Vacation Leave

Executive staff, administrative faculty, administrative staff and support staff who are employed and working for MSU in a full-time permanent position shall be eligible for vacation leave and will accrue vacation time accordinlgy:

  • Less than 5 years service….4 hours accrual per pay period (1 day accrual per month)
  • 5-10 years service……......5 hours accrual per pay period (1 ¼ days accrual per month)
  • 10 or more years service.....6 hours accrual per pay period (1 ½ days accrual per month)

*Rollover is permitted – provided that under no circumstances may an employee rollover more than seventeen (17) days of available vacation time into the new anniversary year, the anniversary year being calculated from the date of full-time employment at the University and ending on the day prior to the initial date of employment. 

Personal Leave

Executive staff, administrative faculty, faculty, administrative staff and support staff who are employed and working for MSU in a full-time permanent position shall be eligible for personal leave and will accrue personal time accordingly:

  • 4 hours accrual per pay period (1 day accrual per month)

*Maximum of four (4) days per anniversary year, employees will loose any accrued personal time on each anniversary date of their employment. 

Sick Leave

Executive staff, administrative faculty, faculty, administrative staff and support staff who are employed and working for MSU in a full-time permanent position shall be eligible for sick leave and will accrue sick time accourdingly:

  • 4 hours accrual per pay period (1 day accrual per month)

*Rollover is permitted – provided that under no circumstances may an employee rollover more than twenty (20) days of available sick time into the new anniversary year, the anniversary year being calculated from the date of full-time employment at the University and ending on the day prior to the initial date of employment.
